TREATMENT OF THE BLADE WITH CLOVE LEAF OIL
For Pteryx proper care we recommend Clove leaf oil spray which has ideal properties for keeping the blade in perfect condition. Japanese fighters were using it for centuries. It is harmless to health and after use can still cut the food.
Treating edge by oil is necessary as some particles might be caught up on the sand blasted edge surface and they may contaminate the edge and small rusting spots occur on it. You can prevent any troubles by proper treatment.
Usage: Wash your Pteryx with ordinary dish soap, rinse it in clean water and after drying, apply a thin film of oil (ideally 2 times) to the blade.
CLEANING AN OUTDOOR KNIFE PTERYX L2
The knife obviously needs a care. Particles of aggressive materials stuck on the blade surface are often susceptible for corrosion and leave certain spots on the knife’s surface reminding rust. But it is not corrosion of the blade but the contaminant remains left on its surface. Then it is necessary to cure it more harshly and clean it with special gum for knives. We slightly brush the blade with gum. We wash out the remains of gums with washing liquid and clean water. Consequently we conserve the blade surface with oil of cloves.
Warning:
It is better to look after your knife properly and wash it carefully after the use and oil it as well with oil of cloves. Too frequent brushing with abrasive gum might cause certain knife damage.
